Steve Wymer oversees eBay’s global communications, leading the company’s brand and reputation management, employee communications, global impact and the eBay Foundation.
Before joining eBay, Steve led communications and policy at Nextdoor.com, the world’s largest local social media platform. At Nextdoor, Steve played a critical role in building out the company’s brand messaging and external relations, as well as launching new markets in Europe and Australia.
Prior to Nextdoor, Steve spent five years leading global communications and various public policy and marketing initiatives at TiVo. Steve also served as a senior advisor in the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C., leading communications for three U.S. Senators. In 2010, Steve was elected President of the bipartisan U.S. Senate Press Secretaries Association.
A graduate of the Edward R. Murrow College at Washington State University, where he received his B.A., Steve remains active in a variety of advisory and fundraising roles for the university.
Steve and his wife Michele are the proud parents of four children and active in a variety of organizations in their home town of San Jose. Since 2015, Steve has served on the Board of Directors for Team San Jose, the operational entity that oversees San Jose’s convention center and downtown theaters. An avid sports fan and outdoor enthusiast, Steve can never get enough baseball or fresh powder in the mountains.
Steve's Favorite eBay Experience:
"I love the joy of discovery and I’ve found some of the neatest things on eBay. In particular, my 40-year-old Ford Bronco is always in need of a spare part or two and the original inner door locking pins I recently bought couldn’t be located on any other automotive website."
